Critical Supplemental Fire Protection
Fire hose rack units provide a means for occupants to fight insipient fires or to escape larger ones,
while standpipes provide a connection for fire departments to hook up to, making these two of the most
important types of fire protection in or on a building. And both require periodic inspection and
testing, per NFPA 1962 and NFPA 14.
